In conjunction with Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, today launched its ‘Sinar Seri Aidilfitri’ celebration – named after the glistening lights of the festivity. Set under a canopy of a thousand lights, the Centre Court of the mall is transformed into a Dazzling Ramadhan Bazaar, which offers shoppers with traditional souvenirs, assorted delights and Raya fashion wear.

As if to bring life to the festival, the illuminating decorations seek to shine a light on the traditions of Malaysians during the signature celebration. The mall believes that ‘Sinar Seri Aidilfitri’ will ignite the festive mood among the shoppers.

To officiate the celebration, the mall invited media, tourists and shoppers to be part of the festivity. Traditional cak lempung greeted the guests as they crowd around the Centre Court, captivated by the illuminating decorations. The event started with fascinating performance by the 1Malaysia Dancers, made up of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s very own staff. Dancing to signature Raya music, the performers enthralled the audience with their graceful moves and shimmering costumes.

Epitomizing the significance of ‘togetherness’ during this iconic festival, the presenter of the evening – celebrity and TV host, Hunny Madu, invited Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s senior management on stage to offer a symbolic salam to the crowd. This was followed by a lighting ceremony where the senior management, together with tourists and shoppers, light up the traditional pelita to mark the start of the celebration. Confetti filled the grounds as the Spanish Steps twinkle in glittering lights, each representing the stories and traditions this celebration brings. The event ended with a grand finale by the 1Malaysia Dancers and the Sinar Sutera Dancers who performed to a medley of traditional and upbeat Raya favourites.
