PAVILION KL WINS GOLD IN THE ICSC 2015 ASIA PACIFIC SHOPPING CENTER AWARDS
Asia Pacific’s most innovative properties honoured at ICSC’s 2015 RECon Asia

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has announced the winners of the 2015 Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards competition, recognizing the region’s most innovative shopping centers for outstanding achievement in marketing, design and development and retail. ICSC has named Pavilion KL, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a Gold winner in the Public Relations and Events marketing category.

Pavilion KL received accolade for their proactive initiative that was launched to position the mall as the defining authority in fashion. For the first time in Asia, the center presented the ‘60 Years of Made In Italy’ exhibition, showcasing 30 iconic Italian archived fashion pieces and a series of highly experiential events and exhibitions by iconic luxury Italian houses. The global event successfully enhanced Pavillion KL’s luxury fashion positioning and resulted in excellent publicity coverage.

Anna Fendi graced the opening of the ’60 Years of Made in Italy’ exhibition, attended by over 500 fashion enthusiasts and society. A Versace Maison was presented for the first time in Malaysia, showcasing Atelier gowns of international celebrities. Moschino presented its Iconic Biker Bag exhibition; Bulgari with the LVCEA Watch exhibition; Gucci with The Icons of Heritage Exhibition; Etro Art of Paisley exhibition while Fendi, Bottega Veneta and Ermenegildo Zegna organized VIP previews and Made-to-Measure Trunk shows. The campaign received the support of the Italian Embassy, Italian Trade Commission and Studio Galgano of Italy.

This is the fifth Gold Award that Pavilion KL has won for ICSC and this latest award is testament to the high standards of events that we organise. We are very marketing-centric and it has proven to be a great draw for tourists and locals to our mall, says Kung Suan Ai, Marketing Director of Pavilion KL.

The 2015 ICSC Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards competition were open to shopping center owners, developers, management companies, architects and designers and retailers. ICSC announced the winners during an awards ceremony at ICSC’s premier retail estate program, RECon Asia in Taipei, Taiwan.

In addition, all 2015 Asia Pacific Shopping Center Award Gold winners are automatically eligible to win ICSC’s prestigious VIVA Award. The ICSC VIVA Awards, which recognize the retail real estate industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions, and creative responses to market trends throughout the world, will be presented during ICSC’s annual convention, RECon, May 22, 2016 in Las Vegas.
