Pavilion KL Welcomes mt masking tape Pop-Up Store
July 27, 2016
KUALA LUMPUR, 27 JULY 2016
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, today celebrated the very first mt masking tape exhibition and pop-up store in Malaysia, held in conjunction with Waku Waku Japan Festival and the award-winning Japanese dedicated precinct – Tokyo Street’s 5th Anniversary. The pop-up store, which runs from now until the 7 August 2016, features six Malaysia-themed limited edition masking tapes created exclusively for Pavilion KL shoppers.
mt masking tape is a leading Japanese brand for colourful, decorative tapes, made of washi paper. These tapes are available in amazing colours, patterns and sizes, and are re-useable, food-safe, acid-free and multi-purpose. Crafters and DIY enthusiasts around the world have grown very fond of the brand, where they use the tapes to personalise plain journals, photo frames, gift wrapping, to decorate walls and even party ware for birthday celebrations.
In collaboration with the designers of mt masking tape, a limited collection of ‘Waku Waku Japan Festival’ themed masking tape will be available for sale from now to 7 August 2016, while stocks last. As part of this first and exclusive experience to shoppers, Pavilion KL has also taped up the entire Centre Court and the Spanish Steps leading to level 3, with the ‘Waku Waku Japan Festival’ themed masking tape, adding a vibrant and colourful ambience to the mall.
At the launch today, guests were introduced to the world of mt masking tape before exploring the pop-up store through a short but comprehensive tour by the mt masking tape designers who specially flew in to attend the event. The event was followed by a fun and engaging workshop led by the Japanese designers themselves, where guests were guided creatively on the art of masking, using a notebook as an example.
Shoppers to Pavilion KL are welcome to get inspired at the mt masking tape pop-up store, where they can get hands-on with the sample masking tapes available on the work benches. DIY enthusiasts will also be happy to know that there will be workshops available on 30 and 31 July 2016, at 10am and 2pm, where they will learn how to use tapes to create labels, page markers, bookmarks, as well as how to pack gifts using techniques like layering and colour coordination. Shoppers can register their interest online at http://mttape.com.sg/mtexkl/.
