Pavilion KL Celebrates Chap Goh Meh 2019 With Record-Breaking Number Of “Bags Of Love” Sold

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 FEBRUARY 2019

Pavilion KL, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, today celebrated Chap Goh Meh with its record-breaking achievement of selling Bags of Love for Charity At Heart 2019, an auspicious corporate social responsibility initiative, part of ‘A Regal Celebration’ to welcome the Chinese New Year festivities.

As with all signature festivals, Pavilion KL broke the records once again in the Malaysia Book of Records by achieving the ‘most number of tote bags sold at a charity drive event’, which received overwhelming support from the Pavilion KL community of partners, tenants, vendors, suppliers, companies as well as shoppers and visitors. The colourful tote bags lovingly named Bags of Love were created by supporting and harnessing the unique sewing skills of 45 single mothers throughout a one-month period.

The Charity At Heart initiative has always been a part of Pavilion KL’s efforts to reach out to the communities during festive celebrations. Since the mall’s opening in 2008, Charity At Heart has seen Pavilion KL continue the act of giving and supporting the welfare of the community by dedicating funds and much-needed items to benefit charity homes nationwide.

The ceremony was attended by Philip Ho, CEO of Pavilion REIT; Mdm. Lee Pooi Leng, Office Manager, Malaysia Book of Records, the Pavilion KL senior management team and single mothers. Guests were treated to a magnificent afternoon of a drum performance and 8 Lion dance performances, and played witness to the unveiling of the total number of bags sold during the campaign and the presentation of the Malaysia Book of Records Certification.

Today we celebrate Chap Goh Meh in high spirits as we achieved our record goal of selling Bags of Love to raise funds for old folks homes, orphanages, charity organisations and worthy causes.
