Pavilion KL Celebrates The Light Of Deepavali With Beauty In Unity

October 7, 2016

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 OCTOBER 2016

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, today launched ‘Beauty in Unity’ – a joyous Deepavali celebration to commemorate this year’s Festival of Lights. Inspired by the beauty and unity of the different races in Malaysia, Beauty in Unity will showcase a Deepavali beauty bazaar which brings shoppers some beauty brands in the mall and intricate kolam design in collaboration with Raffles College, which will be featured in the Centre Court of the mall for the very first time, from now until 30 October 2016.

To celebrate the launch, media and guests were able to witness the finishing touches being added to the kolam before seeing it being launched by Ms Kung Suan Ai, Director of Marketing, Pavilion KL, Encik Wan Azmawi Bin Dato’ Wan Azmi, Chief Executive from Raffles College of Higher Education and Ms Kiran Jassal, reigning Miss Universe Malaysia 2016. As a beauty queen that will be representing our country in the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world, Ms Kiran represents Malaysia being united as one in hopes of winning the crown and makes a stunning fit to this year’s Deepavali theme.

Designed by Raffles College’s design students, the colourful kolam boasted intricate patterns, representing different races in Malaysia to symbolise the harmonious relationship of our multicultural society. Like the myriad colours on the kolam, Beauty in Unity captures the essence we are the most beautiful when we are united as one, bringing together our dreams and hopes of the future to make Malaysia a unified and brighter place.

Adding to the vibrant ambience of the Centre Court, media, guests and patrons of the mall were treated to a joyous dance performance and then to experience the different beauty services available at the Beauty Bazaar from nail art, express makeup, henna, hair styling and more. Guests were then led to Royal India to enjoy a grand spread fit for a king to end the festivities of the day.

“Deepavali is a festival that celebrates the essence of light that brings us all together. Beauty in Unity is a fitting theme for us this year as we celebrate how differing festivities like the Festival of Lights brings Malaysians from all walks of life and races together in a harmonious way. As a leading shopping mall in Malaysia, Pavilion KL prides itself for being a festive hub where everyone can gather to bask in the festivity. This year, we are pleased to present our first kolam in the Centre Court of the mall and we thank our beauty partners for joining us on this celebration. As an award-winning mall, we will continue to present bigger and more unique experiences to our shoppers that set us apart from the rest,” said Ms Kung Suan Ai.
